This epic tea cosy design from TeaCosyFolk of a realistic looking octopus is what's hot for tea cosies this season.The octopus tea cosy is knitted in just two shades of Stylecraft Special DK; Spice and Saffron. Whilst the main part of the cosy is knitted with double thickness yarn to keep the teapot really hot, the rest of the octopus is knitted with a single strand on 4.0mm knitting needles.
The octopus has a pair of 18mm yellow cat's safety eyes that seem to follow you around the room. Instead of the eyes being vertical like they are for a cat, they are horizontal. I think it's the eyes that really make this tea cosy come alive.
It's an amazing tea cosy that leaves people gobsmacked. A lovely tea cosy for the summer and seaside teatimes.
