The lily tea cosy knitting pattern was inspired by a love of lilies. I have a few lilies in the garden but I suppose the most popular lily as a garden flower is the stargazer lily.I designed the flower heads of the lily to have a modernistic look. I thought knitting all the petals in one piece would be less tedious than knitting 6 individual petals for each flower head. Knitting as one gives the flower a real star like shape, and the outer edge makes the flower look unmistakeably lily looking.
The main cosy is a textured stitch that is easy to knit but looks amazing and is quite dense, so it's perfect for insulating the teapot.
Along with the two lily flower heads, the main cosy has two leaves and two flower buds waiting to burst open.
For a flower tea cosy, this tea cosy is really modern looking and striking. It's bright and cheerful like a summers day, but oozes elegance.
